Kill and damage feed

This page explains how the kill/damage feed works in player view and which rights are required.

Data source note: feed entries depend on imported server logs. For expected delay behavior, see Logs import concept.

Navigation path:

  • Main navigation -> Killfeed

Access rightsโ€‹

Required to open Kill Feedโ€‹

  • killfeed.access

Required to open Damage Feed tabโ€‹

  • killfeed.access_damage_feed

If this right is missing, only the Kill Feed tab is shown.

Required to see clickable positionsโ€‹

  • killfeed.see_position

If this right is missing, location links are hidden in both Kill Feed and Damage Feed entries.

What the feeds showโ€‹

Kill Feedโ€‹

  • time
  • killer
  • victim
  • weapon
  • distance
  • what made the kill special, as small labels (see Kill context)
  • optional location link (only with killfeed.see_position)

Damage Feedโ€‹

  • time
  • attacker
  • victim
  • body part
  • damage amount
  • weapon
  • a Friendly fire label when attacker and victim are in the same faction
  • optional location link (only with killfeed.see_position)

Kill contextโ€‹

Every kill gets its context when dzbot imports it from the server log. It shows up as small labels in the kill feed, in the Discord kill feed post (for example "Headshot ยท Revenge ยท Double Kill"), in the Log Explorer, and actions can read it (see Actions).

LabelWhen
HeadshotThe hit that killed went into the head. Kills without a killing hit in the log (for example by a placed trap) never count as headshots.
Double / Triple / Quad KillThe killer made 2, 3, or 4 and more kills within 45 seconds, this one included.
RevengeThe victim had killed this killer within the last 6 hours.
TradeThe victim had killed the killer or one of the killer's faction members within the last 10 seconds โ€” the kill answered a kill in the same fight.
Team KillKiller and victim are in the same faction.
Alliance ViolationKiller and victim are in two factions that share an alliance. Only while the server allows alliances. The faction page also counts these kills, and hits between allies, under Alliance violations.
Friendly FireA hit (not a kill) between members of the same faction. It only appears in the damage feed.
Spawn KillThe victim had been alive for less than the server's PvP kill: minimum victim survival time โ€” by default 2 minutes, so a kill within 120 seconds of the victim's spawn. While that setting is 0, no kill is a spawn kill. The same kills are left out of the PvP statistics.

The labels are decided once, when the kill is imported, and do not change afterwards โ€” a faction change or a new spawn-kill threshold only affects later kills. Kills imported before this feature have no labels.

In the guest kill feed, Team Kill and Alliance Violation are only shown when the server's guest factions page is on.

Refresh behaviorโ€‹

  • Feed data refreshes automatically every few seconds, as long as you have not loaded older events.
  • The newest events come first; Load more reads further back, up to the last stats wipe.
  • The guest kill feed shows the newest 50 kills only.
  • If there are no entries, an empty state message is shown.
