Factions in admin view

This page explains how server admins operate factions from the admin area.

Navigation paths:

  • Server Admin -> Factions

Access requirementsโ€‹

Faction management depends on your assigned staff permissions.

Faction admin rights:

  • admin.factions.access โ€” opens the faction admin page and its settings tab
  • admin.factions.create โ€” create a faction
  • admin.factions.delete โ€” delete a faction
  • admin.factions.edit_members โ€” edit faction membership
  • admin.factions.edit_spawns โ€” edit faction spawn points
  • admin.factions.see_treasury โ€” see the treasury and its transaction list
  • admin.factions.change_money โ€” change the faction's balance
  • admin.factions.manage_notes โ€” write and delete faction notes

Anything with a coordinate is gated twiceโ€‹

admin.factions.see_locations is a master switch. Every right below it also needs the switch; granting a facet on its own shows nothing.

  • admin.factions.see_base_locations โ€” the base locations tab (status, flag, top contributors)
  • admin.factions.see_base_alarms โ€” base alarms and their coordinates
  • admin.factions.see_spawn_positions โ€” view and set spawn coordinates
  • admin.factions.see_markers โ€” the Markers tab: the faction's own map markers, read-only. Members keep their stashes there, so this is granted to nobody by default โ€” only groups with the admin.* wildcard (the server owners) have it. Players' personal markers are never visible to admins.

A denied see_locations is absolute. It is enforced outside the rights map, so no other grant works around it.

These are not granted automatically

app:factions:backfill-rights handed see_treasury, change_money and manage_notes to everyone who already held access. The four location rights were deliberately left out, because "may administer factions" is a different question from "may see where their bases are". Until you grant them by hand, a group without an admin.* wildcard sees nothing location-related. Run the command to list which groups are affected.

Related rights used in faction sub-areas:

  • base alarms: admin.base_alarm.access, admin.base_alarm.create, admin.base_alarm.edit, admin.base_alarm.delete
  • subscriptions: admin.subscriptions.view_available, admin.subscriptions.create_active, admin.subscriptions.edit_active

What admins can manageโ€‹

From faction admin pages, admins can:

  • create factions
  • edit faction details (name, color, flag, armband, tag)
  • add/remove members
  • edit per-member faction rights
  • see each member's rank and the faction's alliances
  • create/edit/remove faction spawns
  • adjust faction treasury
  • create faction-linked base alarms
  • create faction-linked subscriptions

For the full faction mechanics model (rights layering, treasury concept, shared places/spawns, integrations), see Factions concept.

Member management and faction rightsโ€‹

Admins can edit faction memberships directly and set member rights per user.

The Location shared column shows which members share their location with the faction on the map, and how (this account or all accounts, always or online only). Only the member can change it.

The Rank column shows the rank a member holds; ranks themselves, rank assignments and alliances are managed on the faction page in the shop, which staff with admin.factions.access can open for every faction.

The Alliances tab (shown when the faction is in an alliance or invited to one) lists each alliance with its member factions, the votes it is waiting on and its alliance violations: kills and hits between members of the alliance in the last 7 and 30 days, with the full history behind Show history. Manage in the player area opens the faction page in the shop, where staff act for the faction. Alliances are also found by name in the admin search.

Faction member-right names and meaning are documented centrally in Factions concept.

Spawns and shared operationsโ€‹

Faction spawn entries can be added, updated, and removed from the admin view.

This keeps faction operational coordinates and item-spawn behavior maintainable for staff.

Treasury operationsโ€‹

Admins can set, add, or remove faction treasury balance directly.

All treasury changes are logged as faction transactions and shown in the faction transaction list.

Integration operationsโ€‹

Faction base alarmsโ€‹

Admins can create and maintain faction base alarms from the faction page when that feature is available.

Faction subscriptionsโ€‹

Admins can create faction subscriptions from available offers and continue management in subscription pages.

Operational recommendationsโ€‹

  1. Keep faction rights templates consistent across factions.
  2. Review high-impact rights (admin, treasury withdraw, member management) regularly.
  3. Use admin faction pages for lifecycle corrections (member cleanup, spawn correction, role alignment).
  4. Keep faction identity data (name/color/visual markers) consistent so moderators and players can recognize teams quickly.
