Get a Nitrado server

dzbot connects exclusively through the Nitrado API. If you do not yet have a Nitrado account or a DayZ server, follow this guide to get one before continuing with the Getting started setup.

1) Create a Nitrado accountโ€‹

Go to nitrado.net and click Register in the top navigation.

Fill in your email address, choose a password, and confirm your email address via the link Nitrado sends you.

2) Order a DayZ serverโ€‹

Once logged in, open Game Servers โ†’ DayZ from the Nitrado product catalog, or go directly to nitrado.net.

Choose the platform that matches your community:

PlatformNotes
DayZ (PC)Standard PC servers โ€” most popular
DayZ (PlayStation)PS4 / PS5 console servers
DayZ (Xbox)Xbox console servers

Select your preferred server location, number of player slots, and billing period. Nitrado offers flexible monthly billing and longer-term discounts.

After completing the purchase, your server appears under My Services.

3) Wait for the server to be readyโ€‹

Nitrado takes a few minutes to provision and start a newly ordered server. Watch the My Services list until the server status changes from Installing to Active (or the equivalent label for your region).

Do not connect dzbot until the server is fully active โ€” an installing server has no API data for dzbot to read.

4) Verify you can reach the Nitrado game panelโ€‹

Open your server in the Nitrado web panel and confirm:

  • The server dashboard loads without errors.
  • You can see the server status and basic configuration options.

This confirms your account has the API permissions dzbot needs.

5) Come back and connectโ€‹

Once your server is running, return to dzbot.de and continue with the Getting started guide. dzbot will ask you to authorize access to your Nitrado account โ€” a one-time OAuth step that takes about 30 seconds.
