dzbot Free and dzbot Pro

Every server runs on one of two plans. dzbot Free costs nothing, forever, and needs no credit card. dzbot Pro is one subscription per server with every feature โ€” there are no tiers and no add-ons. You see the current plan and the price under Organization โ†’ Payment.

What each plan includesโ€‹

dzbot Free shows your server:

  • the kill feed in your Discord, without limits: every PvP kill and every death by the environment, posted by the dzbot bot to the kill feed channel you pick
  • its entry on the public server list and its own listing page
  • the wiki and the map with your server's data
  • the leaderboard and killfeed pages
  • your rules and custom pages, and the guest home page
  • the admin pages to set these up: settings, groups and rights, rules, custom pages, wiki guides, billing, accounting, the audit trail and the organization pages

Game logs keep being imported on Free, so the leaderboard, killfeed and statistics stay current.

dzbot Pro adds everything that manages the server or acts in the game and on Discord: the rest of the Discord bot (the damage feed and the other feeds, roles, commands, leaderboards and live channels), shop, economy and casino, player subscriptions and support payments, tickets, players and wallets, moderation (restrictions, reviews, logs, audits), actions, the scheduler and restarts, mods, bases, base alarms, zones and bounties, events and achievements, factions, referrals and site alerts, the dashboard and the AI Companion with its monthly allowance.

The Pro trialโ€‹

Every organization has 14 days of dzbot Pro to try, without payment details. The trial does not start on its own: you choose it when you connect your first server, or switch it on later under Organization โ†’ Payment, on any Pro page or at the end of the short setup wizard. While it runs, every server of the organization is on Pro โ€” including servers added in that time โ€” and they all switch together.

  • Every UTC calendar day on which the trial runs, even briefly, uses up one day.
  • You can pause it any time and switch it on again until the days are used up. Paused days stay available and do not expire.
  • A pause and the end of the trial work the same way: the organization's servers move to dzbot Free (see below). Nothing has to be cancelled.

Who can start and pause it, its reminders and how to pay are described in Getting started.

During the trial you always see what belongs to Pro: the Pro pages carry a small crown in the admin navigation (on Free their entries are also dimmed), and each of them says at the top how long the trial still covers it, whether your players lose it too once it ends, and that what you set up there is kept. The setup steps for Pro features say the same, and the billing page lists what you have set up with Pro so far.

When a server moves to Freeโ€‹

This happens when the Pro trial ends or is paused without payment, or when a paid Pro subscription ends.

  • Nothing is deleted. Shop items, tickets, factions, actions, zones, events and every setting stay as they are, and so do player balances. Upgrade to Pro or start the trial again and everything works right away.
  • Mods that dzbot installed on your game server are taken off once, with the next restart. They come back with the first restart after you upgrade or start the trial again.
  • Player subscriptions sold on the server stop renewing. What a player already paid for runs until the end of its period; a subscription billed per restart ends right away, so nobody pays for a period the server can no longer deliver. Subscriptions do not restart by themselves after an upgrade โ€” players take out a new one.
  • Support payments already collected are paid out as usual.
  • The organization's billing admins get one Discord message saying what keeps running, what stopped and how to upgrade. A pause sends no such message.

The Discord bot on Freeโ€‹

The bot stays in your Discord and keeps posting the kill feed, with plain player names (faction tags are part of Pro). Slash commands, buttons and forms answer with a short note that the rest of the Discord integration is part of dzbot Pro, and a mention of the bot gets the same note once in a while. Roles, nicknames, the damage feed, the other feeds and live channels are no longer updated. Signing in with Discord and linking game accounts keep working.

What admins and players seeโ€‹

In the admin area the Pro pages stay in the navigation, dimmed and marked with a crown, so the pages Free includes stand out. Opening one shows what the feature does, what your server set up with it during the trial ("You set up 12 shop items โ€“ they come back with Pro") and a way to upgrade, plus Start the Pro trial while the organization has trial days left. The dashboard is left out; Server Admin opens the listing page instead.

Players and guests never see Pro pages: they disappear from the navigation, and a link to one leads to the server's home page. The map shows no bases, zones, bounties, base alarms, player positions or faction members, leaderboard names do not link to player profiles, and the wiki shows no shop prices.

Public server listโ€‹

Free and Pro servers are listed on dzbot.de/servers unless the owner opts out in the server's settings. While a server shares its loot settings publicly, its mission settings are shown there โ€” as levels compared to vanilla DayZ, never as exact values โ€” just like in the wiki and on the map. What is listed and how to set up your page: Server list & listing page; how players search the list: Finding a server.
