Wiki Guides

The Wiki Guides screen lets you write guides for your server's wiki: how your traders work, where the good loot is, what your mods add. Players read them in the wiki next to the guides dzbot ships, at /wiki/server-guides/<slug> on your server's web app.

Guides are separate from Custom Pages: they do not appear in the shop navigation, only in the wiki.

Accessโ€‹

Navigate to Admin โ€บ Wiki Guides in the admin navigation.

  • View Wiki Guides โ€” required to open the screen and read the guides.
  • Edit Wiki Guides โ€” required to create, edit, reorder or delete guides.

Groups that could already view or edit custom pages get the matching guide right when the feature is rolled out.

Writing a guideโ€‹

  1. Click New guide in the top right.
  2. Enter a title (at least one language), the URL slug (filled from the title until you type into it; lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, unique per server), an optional summary for the guide list, and who may read it.
  3. Click Create. The guide opens, and you write its text in the editor below. Click Save when you are done.

Title, summary and text can be written in English and German. Changing the slug of an existing guide breaks links to its old address.

Item referencesโ€‹

Write an item's slug in double square brackets to link it, for example [[akm]] or [[mag_akm_30rnd]]. The slug is the last part of the item's address in the wiki (wiki.dzbot.de/akm โ†’ akm). In the guide, the reference shows as a link to the item.

Who can read a guideโ€‹

  • Everyone โ€” public, guests who are not signed in too.
  • Players of this server โ€” only signed-in players who have played on your server.

A server with at least one public guide is listed in the item wiki, even when it does not share its loot settings. Guides for players of the server are only shown to them; everyone else gets "not found".

Order and deletingโ€‹

Drag a guide in the list to change the order the wiki shows them in. To delete a guide, open it and pick Delete guide from the actions. There is no undo.

Creating, editing, reordering and deleting guides is recorded in the audit trail.
