Finding a server on dzbot.de/servers

dzbot.de/servers โ€” Servers in the top navigation of dzbot.de โ€” lists the DayZ servers that run dzbot. You need no account to search it.

Each server has a row in the list and its own page with the server team's description, their own content and what dzbot measured. On the page, information is marked as either measured by dzbot (map, platform, slots, datacenter, player activity, how the server plays compared with vanilla, wipes) or stated by the server team (description, playstyle, languages, banner, page). dzbot does not check what a team states.

How server owners set up their entry is described in Server list & listing page.

Filtersโ€‹

The panel on the left (on a phone: Wishes & filters) holds where and how you want to play; the bar above the list holds the rest.

  • Platform (PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch) and map
  • Region โ€” where the server's datacenter is. The list starts with your own region, taken from your address; pick another one or Anywhere to see more. A server whose datacenter dzbot has not read yet shows in every region.
  • Playstyle โ€” tags such as PvP, PvE, Roleplay, Hardcore or Beginner friendly, as the server team states them
  • Language spoken on the server
  • Fresh wipe โ€” the server wiped less than 14 days ago
  • New โ€” the server has been on dzbot for less than 30 days
  • Players at prime time โ€” how many players are online at once during the server's busiest hours

How a server should playโ€‹

Beyond the filters, you can describe the server you are looking for: pick criteria such as "1st person only", "more zombies" or "more weapon loot", choose the value you want, and mark each one as

  • Must โ€” a server that does not match is left out. So is a server that does not share its settings, because dzbot cannot tell.
  • Nice to have โ€” filters nothing. Each server gets a match percentage: the share of your nice-to-haves it meets.

Presets such as Hardcore, Relaxed, Geared up fast or Zombie hordes fill in a few nice-to-haves at once; change anything afterwards.

What a row showsโ€‹

  • The server's name and, where it says more, its name in the game's own server browser โ€” the name to search for in game.
  • Map, platform, slots and the team's playstyle tags, and the team's short description. A row without one says so, and a server without a banner shows an empty, hatched space instead.
  • Six settings, the same on every row so rows compare at a glance: your criteria first โ€” green the server matches, red it does not โ€” then perspective, loot, zombies, vehicles, base damage and day length. A server that does not share its settings shows these fields hatched as Not shared.
  • Players at prime time against the slots, e.g. 86 / 100: how many players are online at once on average during the 6 busiest hours of the day, over the last 7 days. A plain day average would count the empty mornings too and make a server that fills up every evening look half empty.
  • When people play: one bar per hour of your day, the 6 busiest hours highlighted and the current hour framed.
  • The country of the datacenter and an estimated round trip from where you are (green close, yellow further, red far). It is a rough estimate from your country and the datacenter's region โ€” a website cannot ping a game server.

The comparison with vanilla is always in rough levels ("less", "vanilla", "more"), never in exact numbers.

Orderโ€‹

By default the list is ordered by the players at prime time โ€” measured, not votes. You can also order by best match (your match percentage first), freshest wipe or newest.

New servers get a chance to be seen: a New on dzbot row at the top shows up to 6 of them at random on every visit, and every 5th place in the list goes to a new server that matches your search.

Comparing serversโ€‹

Select 2 to 4 servers in the list and open the comparison. It shows them side by side next to a vanilla column, with your criteria first; every other setting is one click away.

Everything you choose โ€” filters, criteria and order โ€” is part of the page address. Bookmark it or send it to your friends, and they see the same search.
