Search

dzbot has one search. The field in the top bar, the search and filters on every list, the pickers in forms (choose a player, a faction, an item) and the AI Companion's look-ups all find the same things in the same way. What you can find depends on where you are and on your access rights: a player sees what the player area shows them, staff see what their rights open.

The search in the top barโ€‹

Every top bar has a search field: the admin area, a server's web app (signed in or as a guest) and the wiki. Type a name, a code such as #7KQM or an id โ€” a Discord id, a Steam id or a DayZ id pasted from somewhere else finds its player. Hits are grouped by kind (players, orders, tickets, items, pages โ€ฆ); all โ€ฆ results opens the full list with the same search.

  • Admin area: finds everything your rights open โ€” players, factions, orders, tickets, restrictions, settings, admin pages and more. A question instead of a search term goes to the AI Companion.
  • Server web app: finds the shop, factions, events, the rules, the wiki and the map's places. The group My account shows your own orders, tickets, base alarms, transactions, subscriptions and saved places โ€” a ticket is also found by words from its messages. Staff get a last row Search in the admin area that runs the same search there.
  • Wiki: finds guides, items, buildings, infected and diseases, see Wiki.

On a phone the server's name stays in the top bar; the search shows as a field while there is room and as a magnifier when the bar gets narrow. Both open the same search sheet.

Histories โ€” logs, the audit trail, all transactions of a server, the kill feed and a player's timeline โ€” are not in the top-bar search: they grow too fast. Search them on their own pages, where a time range keeps the search quick. Your own transactions and base alarms are the exception: they are in My account.

Lists and filtersโ€‹

Every list โ€” players, orders, tickets, logs, transactions, the shop, the item list in the wiki โ€” has the same bar: a search field, filter chips, sorting and pages. The search field narrows the list you are looking at; the chips add conditions (status, a player, a faction, a date range, an amount).

The whole state is in the page address. Reload, the back button and a link you send to someone else keep the search, the filters, the sorting and the page. A player, a faction or a ticket in the address is its number, not its name, so a link still works after someone renames themselves. Date ranges such as last 7 days stay relative: the link shows the last 7 days on the day it is opened.

For developersโ€‹

The search is also the developer API: the same lists, filters and sorting are available to scripts with an API key.
