Cheating-Index

The Cheating-Index page shows which of your players land several hits per second at distance unusually often โ€” the trace a recoil device such as Cronus Zen or XIM leaves โ€” and sets them against normal players and against players banned for cheating. What the number on each player means and how it is measured is described under Player details; this page is where you compare players and look at the evidence.

Access requirementsโ€‹

RightWhat it unlocks
admin.players.cheating_indexThis page, and the Cheating-Index tile in the Moderation spoke of the player dossier

A ranking of likely cheaters is more delicate than the player list, so this right is not part of admin.players.view and was not granted to anyone automatically. Groups with the admin.* wildcard โ€” usually the server owners โ€” have it; to let moderators use the page, grant it to their group under Groups & access rights.

Whose data countsโ€‹

  • Normal is measured across every server on dzbot, with banned players left out. A young server with few fights of its own therefore has a reliable comparison from the first day.
  • The index counts the person, not the account: all their game accounts in every community.
  • Names and evidence only ever come from the servers of your own organization. Players banned for cheating in other communities appear only as anonymous points.

Casesโ€‹

The Cases tab is a queue of the players who stand out: even the cautious end of their range lies above 1.25ร— normal. Switch to Everyone with a value to see every player with enough data, and use the search to find one by name. Players with too little data are left out.

Selecting a player opens the case:

  • Verdict โ€” one sentence: how many times as often as normal players the player lands three hits within two seconds, and the likely range.
  • Tiles โ€” the index (0โ€“100), ร— normal with its range, the data basis, and the number of fights and series.
  • Placement โ€” a ruler with the player between normal players, the most suspicious players on your server and players banned for cheating.
  • Comparisons โ€” charts against those groups: the spread of data basis against distance from normal, the nightly history of the value, fights per week, the series rate by distance, how many hits land within two seconds, and the share of head hits.
  • Where it stands out โ€” each weapon and distance where the player lands series, against normal.
  • Evidence โ€” the concrete series from your organization's servers in the last 180 days: time, victim, distance and weapon. In the log opens the Log Explorer at that moment.
  • Context โ€” head hits, kills by headshot, kills per death, kill distance, playtime here, and across how many accounts and communities the index was counted.

Open player leads to the player's page; Ban opens the ban form with Reason: cheating already switched on.

Overviewโ€‹

The Overview tab looks at the whole server: a few figures at the top, every player on one plane (optionally with the whole platform as anonymous points and with each player's range), how the index is distributed on your server compared with the platform, head hits against the index, and a sortable table of every player with a value.

What is normalโ€‹

The What is normal tab lists, per weapon and distance band, how often normal players land a series, how many fights back that figure, and how much a series there weighs for the index. It is the same for every server.

How it worksโ€‹

The How it works tab explains the calculation in the app itself, for whoever is reading a case.

Bans for cheatingโ€‹

When you ban someone who demonstrably played with a device, switch on Reason: cheating. These bans are the yardstick the page measures other players against โ€” the more there are, the more precise the comparison becomes for every server.

The switch is in the ban form on the player dossier and in the restriction drawer for bans, where it can also be changed on an existing ban. The ban form of the Discord player card has a Reason choice, and the AI Companion sets it when it bans for cheating.

What the index cannot doโ€‹

  • It is a reason to look at the evidence, not proof for a ban.
  • It cannot reliably tell a very good player from a device. It knows nothing about attachments, stance, moving targets or how many shots were fired.

Use it to decide where to look โ€” watch a clip, check the logs โ€” and decide yourself.
