v3.5.0
A mid-sized release: AI apps connected over MCP get leaner, consistently named tools, AI Companion pricing in very long sessions now follows our provider's rates, actions can grant Discord roles for a limited time, and the docs now have this changelog.
Action needed
- Update prompts that name dzbot's AI tools. All of dzbot's tool descriptions together now take
about 40 % of the space they did, so the conversation has more room. The tools are also named
consistently: everything that lists or finds is
search_…(no morelist_…), creating and changing is onesave_…tool, and deleting anything is the onedeletetool. Reconnect the app (or start a new chat) so it picks up the new list. AI Companion proposals still waiting for approval when this update ships may no longer be approvable — ask the Companion again. Docs
Good to know
- AI Companion messages in very long sessions now cost what our AI provider charges for them: once a session carries more than about 270,000 tokens, each further message costs roughly twice as much. Start a new session for a new topic to keep messages cheap. Short sessions are unaffected apart from a small surcharge on the part of a message that is new to the session. Docs
- Actions can grant a Discord role for a limited time:
player.ensure_discord_role(name, roleId, seconds)removes the role again once the time is up, and granting it again restarts the clock (e.g. "VIP for 30 days after the last donation"). Docs - The docs have a changelog: every release with what changed in it, in English and German, with an RSS feed. Docs
Fixed
- AI apps connected over MCP call your servers by their name instead of an internal 4-character code you had never seen.
- When you mention the bot in a reply to an older message in Discord, it now answers about the message you replied to instead of the last few messages in the channel.
