v3.13.0
A small update: your server's public site can now be found on Google, the bot invite asks for Administrator, and the Nasdara server guide on dzbot.de grew into a full setup guide. Plus two small fixes.
Action needed
- Adding the dzbot bot to Discord now asks for Administrator, so it can use private channels (online list, tickets, donation or log channels) without setting up channel permissions. You can untick it, but then the bot's role needs View Channel and Send Messages in every private channel dzbot uses. Re-adding the bot resets its role to what you confirm in that dialog. Bots that are already installed keep their current permissions. Docs
Your server site on Google
Your server's public site can now be found on Google. Every public page (home, rules, events, leaderboards, kill feed, factions, achievements, support, public custom pages) gets its own title and description in German and English, and each server has its own sitemap. The first sentences of your server home page text become the description under your server in search results, so open with what makes your server worth joining. Pages you switched off under Guest pages stay out of search. Docs
Good to know
- Links to your server site shared on Discord or WhatsApp now show a preview with the page title and description.
- The DayZ Nasdara server guide on dzbot.de is now a full setup guide for new server owners: settings to check, restarts, mission files, backups and wipes, rules, where to post your server and the Discords where server owners get help.
Fixed
- Servers whose Discord bot was removed no longer pile up a new Discord audit error every minute for the online list.
- The language switch and sign-in button on dzbot.de match the site's orange again instead of showing up yellow.
