Admin work on a DayZ server is mostly looking things up: reading logs around a kill, checking a player's history, finding where an order went, comparing a report with the rules. dzbot's AI Companion does that legwork across your server data and hands your team a summary and a drafted next step — which a person approves.
Short answer
The AI Companion is an AI assistant built into dzbot for server admins. Asked in plain language — in the admin panel or with /ai in a private Discord thread — it searches your logs, players, tickets, orders, factions, rules and the documentation, and drafts replies, notes, bans, refunds, setting changes or Lua scripts. In Ask mode each change waits for your approval. It acts with the user's own rights, every session is kept, and every subscription includes AI credit each month — no API key needed. The same tools are open to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI apps over MCP.

What it does
- Summarises a ticket, checks it against your actual rules and drafts the reply — or two alternative replies.
- Researches incidents: who was near whom, which kills, which orders, which accounts belong together.
- Handles players and money: bans, notes, balance corrections, refunds, redeliveries.
- Works on your setup: rules in every language you maintain, settings, factions, events, accounting.
- Writes and checks the Lua script for an action or a scheduled task.
- Knows the page you opened it from, so "what is going on here?" needs no IDs.
You stay in control
- Ask mode, the default: every change is a card with the old and new values, waiting for Approve or Reject.
- Execute mode, if you switch it on: changes run right away and are still shown as cards.
- It acts with the rights of the person using it. A ticket in a support level that person cannot see stays invisible to the AI too.
- Sessions cannot be edited or deleted while they exist, and every change appears in the audit trail.
Included, no API key
dzbot runs the AI for you. Every organization with an active or trial subscription gets 1 € of AI usage included per month, which covers many requests — a typical one costs a fraction of a cent — and prepaid credit can be topped up for more. There is no AI provider to choose and no key to paste in.
Bring your own AI app over MCP
If your team already works in Claude, ChatGPT or another AI app, add https://mcp.dzbot.de as a connector and sign in with Discord. The app gets the same tools as the Companion, with exactly your rights, read-only or read and write as you choose; every change shows up in the audit trail marked "via MCP". The app brings its own model, so it uses no dzbot AI credit.

Can I use Claude or ChatGPT with my DayZ server?
Yes. Connect https://mcp.dzbot.de as an MCP connector; the app then works with dzbot's tools and your rights.
