Whitelisting
Whitelisting controls who can join your DayZ server.
If whitelist is enabled, only approved players can enter. This gives you more control over community quality, moderation load, and support effort.
What whitelisting includes in dzbot
1) Global whitelist access
- Turn on Whitelist enabled to restrict access to approved players only.
- All players with the access right "Players -> Whitelist" are automatically whitelisted.
2) Synchronize player lists to the game server
- Turn on the server setting Synchronize player lists so whitelist and restriction (ban) decisions are applied to your Nitrado server.
- Without this, the whitelist will be ignored by Nitrado and has no effect on the game server.
- Important: once enabled, dzbot becomes the source of truth and existing list entries on the game server are overwritten.
3) Manual player approval
- In the player detail view, admins can add a player to whitelist or remove them again.
- This is useful for trusted players, support cases, and controlled test access.
4) Auto-whitelist for linked players
- Configurable in the server settings ("Players & Access"): "Auto-whitelist linked players"
- Automatically whitelists players who have linked their accounts to dzbot.
- This removes manual work and speeds up onboarding for legitimate players.
5) Smart Whitelist behavior
- Smart Whitelist helps with unverified players in controlled communities.
- If configured, players who do not finish account linking in time are temporarily blocked from joining until they verify.
- Important: If enabled, you need to use server messages to communicate with players so they know about this behaviour!
6) Scheduled whitelist
Use the scheduler to enable or disable the whitelist on a schedule (e.g. over night).
