Map in player view

This page explains what can appear on the map, which access rights control visibility, and how to use POI checkboxes.

Data source note: live activity layers depend on imported server logs. For expected delays and freshness behavior, see Logs import concept.

Navigation path:

  • Main navigation -> Map

Access rights overview

Required to open the map

  • map.access

If this right is missing, the map entry is not shown in the shop navigation.

Layers and required rights

  • Players (all online players): map.see_players
  • Players (only your own position): map.see_own_position (used when map.see_players is not granted)
  • Bases (all bases): map.see_bases
  • Bases (limited view): without map.see_bases, only bases that include your player are shown
  • Zones (No-Build / No-Kill): map.see_zones
  • Bounty targets: requires bounty feature + hitman access (hitman.access)

What can be shown on the map

Depending on your rights and server features, the map can show:

  • Players
  • Bases
  • No-Build Zones
  • No-Kill Zones
  • Bounties
  • Base Alarms
  • Base Alarm (violators) category with players inside your alarm radius who are not allowed

Notes:

  • Base Alarm overlays are shown for alarms where you are in the allowed player list.
  • Violator markers are only calculated when you do not have map.see_players.

POI checkboxes: hide one item or show only selected

Each category in the POI list has:

  • one category checkbox (next to the category title)
  • one POI checkbox per row

Mode A: Category checkbox enabled (default)

Behavior:

  • All POIs in that category are shown.
  • Unchecking a single POI hides only that POI.

Use this mode when you want to remove a few noisy entries.

Mode B: Category checkbox disabled

Behavior:

  • Category is switched into "show only selected" mode.
  • Only POIs with checked row checkboxes stay visible on the map.
  • The POI table still lists all entries.

Use this mode when you want to focus on a very small subset.

How to disable one POI

  1. Keep the category checkbox enabled.
  2. Find the POI row.
  3. Uncheck that POI row checkbox.

Result: only that POI is hidden; the rest of the category remains visible.

How to show only specific POIs

  1. Disable the category checkbox.
  2. Check only the POIs you want to keep visible.

Result: only the checked POIs in that category are shown.

Other map controls

  • Crosshair button in a POI row centers and zooms to that entry.
  • Map type toggle switches map style.
  • Zoom +/- controls map zoom level.
  • Fullscreen expands map workspace.
  • Map data refreshes automatically every few seconds.

Persistence behavior

Your category/POI checkbox state is saved in your browser.

  • It persists across reloads in the same browser profile.
  • It is not a global server setting for all players.
  • Category collapse/expand state is also saved.

Important persistence note:

  • For moving POIs (for example live player markers), single-row hide/show preferences may not stay stable forever because those POIs change position.
